Powerful Dua for Heartbreak and a Broken Heart – The Easiest Way
Have you ever felt like someone has placed a heavy stone on your chest?
You can’t breathe properly, your eyes are swollen, and nights are spent just tossing and turning.
I myself have experienced this pain. The person I loved the most ended everything with a single message. That night I felt like I wouldn’t be able to live anymore.
Then Allah made me realize the power of dua (prayer). Today I am sharing that same experience with you – with a truly sincere heart.
The pain of a broken heart is not just an emotion, it’s also a disease.
Research shows that Broken Heart Syndrome (Takotsubo cardiomyopathy) is a real medical condition.
According to the American Heart Association, severe emotional stress can suddenly weaken the heart muscles – just like the symptoms of a heart attack.
Every year, millions of people in India visit doctors due to separation anxiety and depression.
But Allah has also provided a cure for this in the Quran and Hadith – dua (prayer).
The Most Powerful Duas That I Have Tried Myself
- The Dua-e-Istikhara line that brings peace to the heart
When I was exhausted from crying at night, I would just recite this:
اَللّٰھُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَسْئَلُکَ الْعَافِیَۃَ فِی الدُّنْیَا وَالْاٰخِرَۃِ
“O Allah! I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter.”
Just recite it 7 times, prostrate, and cry. I guarantee you – the burden on your heart will lighten in 10 minutes. - Hadhrat Aisha (RA) From a narration – The Best Dua for a Broken Heart
The Prophet ﷺ said:
حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ
“Allah is sufficient for me; there is no god but Him. In Him I put my trust, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.”
The practice is to recite this 100 times. I did it for 21 days – by the third week, I stopped thinking about that person altogether. - Surah Ash-Sharh – the entire Surah 7 times
Insha Allah, this Surah is a famous Surah for healing a broken heart.
Recite it 7 times after every prayer. I even recited it in the bathroom when I felt like crying.

5 Easy Steps – To Make Your Dua 10 Times More Powerful
- Perform Wudu and wear clean clothes
- Eat some fresh dates or something sweet and salty (don’t keep your stomach empty)
- Pray two rak’ahs of Nafl Salat al-Hajat
- Recite one of the above duas 100 times or 313 times
- Finally, prostrate and tell Allah all your pain – cry and mention the name.
I took this method from Maulana Yunus Palanpuri Sahib’s book “Hayatul Muslimeen” and tried it.
Real Stories of Real People (without names)
- A girl from Lucknow’s 6-year relationship broke up. She recited Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal wakeel 450 times daily for 40 days – today she is married and has two children.
- A brother from Mumbai got divorced. He performed the 41-day practice of Surah Ash-Sharh – now he says, “What’s gone is gone for the best, Allah has given me something better.”
Mistakes People Make (And You Shouldn’t)
- Just reciting prayers and not putting in any effort
- Repeatedly reading old messages, looking at photos
- The negative loop of “Why did this happen to me?”
- Abandoning prayer (this is the biggest mistake)
Final thought – Allah never lets broken hearts go to waste.
When Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him) lost his son, he cried so much that he became blind.
But Allah not only returned Yusuf, but also restored his eyesight.
Your pain will also not go to waste. Just a little patience, a little prayer, and complete faith.
Insha’Allah, your heart will also smile very soon – and in an even more beautiful way than before.
May Allah mend all our broken hearts and grant us peace. Ameen.
